When Lavenia sings, you just have to stop and listen. “I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Lavenia perform for several years. Each time I see her, it’s always better than the last. She has the innate ability to caress a song, make your heart flutter, your soul dance and fortify your spirit”, says Robin Clemmons, Jazz at Club Paradise, Radio Fairfax. Rooted in jazz and gospel, Lavenia gives a riveting performance, always leaving her audience wanting more.

Lavenia has performed at some of the prestigious venues and festivals to include: Chrysalis at Symphony Woods, Kennedy Center, Jazz at Westminster, Arts In Motion, Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival, DC Jazz Festival, State Department, Library of Congress, Arc of The Capital and The Metropolitan Room, NYC.

Lavenia is Creator, Vocalist, Actress and Executive Producer of three original productions that perform to sold out audiences: Sista’s Can Sang – A Tribute to Female Jazz Legends; A Tribute to Nancy Wilson and A Tribute Mahalia Jackson. She is also the Creator and Producer of the popular Jazz in the Mills Concert Series, in the Oakland Mills community, Columbia, Md.

Accompanying Lavenia this evening will be the phenomenal musicianship of Eric Byrd, keyboard; James King, bass; Thad Wilson, trumpet and Al Young, drums/percussion.
